Nato a Torino nel 1957, ha studiato chitarra clas¨sica per molti anni con il maestro Hgiapponese H. KAKINUMA, allievo e collaboratore di N. Yepez.
Perde la vista nel 1981 dovendo cosÏ affron¨tare enormi difficolt‡ nello studio ditale strumento anche per l’inesistenza di materiale speci¨fico. Decide di adottare l’uso della chitarra a dieci corde nel 1983 e di iscriversi l’anno successivo al Conservatorio di Novara, studiando con il maestro M. DELL’ARA. Si diploma in chitarra nel 1987 con il maestro Bertone.
Ha partecipato a numerosi corsi di perfezio¨namento con i maestri: O. GHIGLIA, N. YEPES, A. GILARDINO, G. MONDEN e studiato musica antica con il maestro liutista J. LINDBERG.
Consegue il diploma di concertismo presso il Royal College of Music di Londra nel 1990.
Viene premiato nel 1991 dalla CEE, a Dubli¨no, per la sua attivit‡ artistica, in rappresentanza dell’Italia nell’ambito delle manifestazioni cul¨turali europee.
Affianca l’attivit‡ concertistica, in Italia ed allíestero, con un inten¨so lavoro didattico, dal 1986 al 1994 ha insegna¨to alla Scuola Civica di Torino ed in altre scuole comunali come quella di Avigliana.
Dopo avere ottenuto líabilitazione con il concorso nazionale per titoli ed esami alle cattedre per líinsegnamento al conservatorio Ë stato, dal 1994 al 2006, docente di ruolo presso il Conservatorio L.Campiani di Mantova dal 2006 al conservatorio G.Verdi di Torino con lo stesso incarico.
Si dedica inoltre alla ricerca ed alla revisione di musica originale per chitarra con più di sei corde ed alla trascrizione per chitarra a dieci corde di partiture liutistiche.
Suona nel 1990 al S.Cecilia in Roma e nel 1994 al S.Carlo in Napoli per il Premio L.Braille ripreso dalla tv di stato.Ha partecipato a festival e rassegne chitarristiche come ìtastar de cordaî ed ìeuro corde in mantuaî ed ha suonato in tour solistici in Spagna, Olanda e Germania.
Nel 1997 incide il cd Strings of life per líassociazione J.and Friends, divulgato Unegli U.S.A.ed in Europa.
Suona come chitarra solista in concerti con líorchestra dei Musicisti Associati diretta dal maestro L.Mariani.
Si occupa della promozione dello studio della musica da parte dei non vedenti per líintegrazione e líabbattimento dei pregiudizi rivolti a questa categoria di handicap attraverso concerti e conferenze sulle tematiche specifiche e tramite líistituzione di corsi per la trascrizione di musica nel codice Braille.Tiene corsi e master class estivi dal 1997 a Castello Arcuato (PC).
was born in Turin in 1957. He studied classical guitar for many years with the Japanese master H. Kakinuma, pupil and collaborator of N. Yepez.
He lost his sight in 1981 and so he had to face enormous difficulties in the study of the guitar also for the non-existence of specific material.
He decided to adopt the use of the ten-string guitar in 1983 and to enroll the following year at the Music Conservatory of Novara, studying with the master M. ARA. He graduated in 1987 with the guitar master Bertone.
He has participated in numerous perfectioning courses with the masters: O. GHIGLIA, N. YEPES, A. GILARDINO, G. Monden and he has studied ancient music with the master lutenist J. LINDBERG.
He graduated as music performer at the Royal College of Music in London in 1990.
In 1991 he was awarded by the EEC for his artistic activity , in Dublin, representing Italy as part of European cultural events.
He currently gives concerts in Italy and abroad, and he has been a teacher since 1986.
From 1986 to 1994 he taught at the Scuola Civica in Turin and other municipal schools
He has qualified as music conservatory teacher participating in a national contest, and therefore he has taught guitar in Mantua music conservatory L.Campiani from 1994 to 2006. Since 2006 he has been a teacher at the music conservatory G. Verdi in Turin.
He also dedicates himself to the research and review of original music for guitar with more than six strings and the guitar transcription of the ten-stringed lute scores.
In 1990 he played at the Santa Cecilia theatre in Rome and in 1994 at the San Carlo theatre in Naples for the Louis Braille Award, both performances were filmed by the State television.
He has participated to guitar festivals such as “Tastar de corde” and “Euro Strings” in Mantua and he has toured solo in Spain, Holland and Germany.
In 1997 he recorded the CD “Strings of Life” for the association J. and Friends, published in the USA and in Europe.
He currently plays as guitar solo in concerts with the orchestra of associated musicians directed by the master L.Mariani.
Through concerts and conferences on specific issues and through the establishment of courses for music transcription in the Braille code he works for the promotion of the study of music by the blind, for the integration of blind music players and the reduction of the prejudices often concerning this category of disabled people.
